Butterfly Collecting

Take away food can be both nutritious and appetising, not to mention good exercise. What could be more rewarding than to capture that unsuspecting moth or butterfly, freshly glistening in the morning sun? What a fabulous source of exercise, pouncing after that nutritious fibre and protein!

Bengal Bungee would like to know,

'Aunty Holly, My Puurrsonal Trainer has puurrscribed me a tough exercise and dietary routine - but I love my snacks! How can I incorporate my love for juicy small insects into this regime, without ruining my diet?'

Quite simply, Bungee! I'm sure that part of your enjoyment of insect protein, is the extreme exercise that can be required in their capture. I puurrsonally enjoy black Butterflies with small blue tips on the wings, as they are easy to track, pounce and place between the paws.

If Staff are nearby, explain to them how your prey was captured, whilst holding the insect between your teeth. This requires an advanced course in ventriloquism, but should pay dividends handsomely, as it ensures your mid-morning snack will not take flight whilst in conversation . If Staff protest against 'insect cruelty' – merely ignore them - and swallow!

Some Felines; however, prefer frolicking after less wholesome critters.

Feral Fifi would like to ask about 'Bush Flies!'

'I enjoy pouncing after a variety of flying insects, however, my Staff continually spoiling hunting routines with 'insecticide'! Furthermore, they are ruining my appetite for succulent Bush Flies. Aunty Holly – what should I do?'

For once, Fifi, your Staff are correct and you, I am afraid, are too silly to be senile. Flies are never a worthwhile snack – try munching on some small crickets instead!

Puurrfectly yours,

Aunty Holly
